Section 3 - Hazards Identification

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW

Appearance: light green. Flash Point: 11.7 deg C. Warning! Flammable liquid. Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. May cause irritation by all exposure routes.
Target Organs: None known.

Potential Health Effects
Eye: Direct eye contact may cause burns and permenant corneal damage.
Skin: May cause irritation and defatting.
Ingestion: Ingestion causes narcosis hematemesis, abdominal pain, uremia. Death may occur from respiratory paralysis.
Inhalation: Inhalation causes dizziness, headache, confusion, nausea, hypotension, depressed respiration.
Chronic: Prolonged exposure to IPA may cause dermititus, conjunctivitis, CNS depression, and pulmonary damage.

Section 4 - First Aid Measures

Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower lids until no evidence of chemical remains. Get medical aid at once.
Skin: Get medical aid. Immediately flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.
Ingestion: Get medical aid at once. If victim is conscious, give 2-4 glasses of water and induce vomiting.
Inhalation: Give artificial respiration if necessary. Get medical aid. Keep victim warm, at rest. Move victim to fresh air.
Notes to Physician: Treat symptomatically.

Section 5 - Firefighting Measures

General Information: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact.
Extinguishing Media: Use water spray to cool fire-exposed containers. Use dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or alcohol-resistant foam. A fine water mist may be used to smother fire or disperse vapors. Do not use a solid stream of water since the stream will scatter and spread the fire.

Section 6 - Accidental Release Measures

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks: Absorb spills with absorbent (vermiculite, sand, fuller's earth) and place in plastic bags for later disposal. Remove all sources of ignition. Keep out of sewers/drains. Burn waste in an approved incinerator or dispose via a licensed waste disposal company.

Section 7 - Handling and Storage

Handling: Wash thoroughly after handling. Avoid breathing dust, vapor, mist, or gas.
Storage: Store capped at room temperature. Protect from heat and incompatibles.

Section 8 - Exposure Controls, Personal Protection

Engineering Controls: Use adequate general or local, explosion-proof ventilation to keep airborne levels to acceptable levels.

The liquid is irritating to the eyes and pro duces intense stinging and burning. If not promptly remove d, IPA may cause eye damage. Repeated or prolonged contact with the skin may cause irritation and dermatitis. While toxic skin absorption is unlikely it should be conside red in meeting the TLV.
