Target Organs: None.

Potential Health Effects

Eye: May cause eye irritation and possible burns.
Skin: May cause severe skin irritation with possible burns, especially if skin is wet or moist.
Ingestion: May cause severe gastrointestinal tract irritation with nausea, vomiting and possible burns.
Inhalation: May cause severe irritation of the respiratory tract with possible burns.
Chronic: None

Section 4 - First Aid Measures

Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid.
Skin: Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Destroy contaminated shoes.
Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid. Do NOT induce vomiting. If conscious and alert, rinse mouth and drink 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Inhalation: Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.
Notes to Physician: Treat symptomatically and supportively.

Section 5 - Firefighting Measures

General Information: As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. Water Reactive. Material will react with water and may release a flammable and/or toxic gas. Containers may explode in the heat of a fire. May re-ignite after fire is extinguished.
Extinguishing Media: Do NOT get water inside containers. Cool containers with flooding quantities of water until well after fire is out. DO NOT USE WATER OR FOAM. For small fires, use dry chemical, soda ash, lime or sand. For large fires, use dry sand, dry chemical, soda ash or lime or withdraw from area and let fire burn.

Section 6 - Accidental Release Measures

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks: Absorb spill with inert material, (e.g., dry sand or earth), then place into a chemical waste container. Provide ventilation. Do not expose spill to water. Do not get water inside containers.

Section 7 - Handling and Storage

Handling: Avoid breathing dust, vapor, mist, or gas. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not allow contact with water. Use only in a chemical fume hood.
Storage: Keep away from sources of ignition. Store in a cool, dry place. Store in a tightly closed container. Water free area. Store totally immersed in oil.

Section 8 - Exposure Controls, Personal Protection

Engineering Controls: Use adequate ventilation to keep airborne concentrations low.
