EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Appearance: Colorless to white crystals or powder.
CAUTION! MAY CAUSE RESPIRATORY TRACT IRRITATION. MAY CAUSE EYE AND
SKIN IRRITATION. MAY CAUSE DIGESTIVE TRACT IRRITATION WITH NAUSEA,
VOMITING, AND DIARRHEA.
Target Organs: Central nervous system.
Potential Health Effects
Eye:
May cause eye irritation.
Skin:
May cause skin irritation. Causes symptoms similar to those of
inhalation.
Ingestion:
May cause central nervous system depression, characterized by
excitement, followed by headache, dizziness, drowsiness, and nausea.
Advanced stages may cause collapse, unconsciousness, coma and
possible death due to respiratory failure. May cause effects similar
to those of acute inhalation.
Inhalation:
May cause effects similar to those described for ingestion.
Prolonged inhalation may cause skin eruptions.
Chronic:
Chronic ingestion may cause effects similar to those of acute
ingestion.
**** SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES ****
Eyes:
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes,
occasionally lifting the upper and lower lids. Get medical aid.
Skin:
Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for
at
least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.
Ingestion:
If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or
water.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical
aid immediately.
Inhalation:
Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing,
give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
